We were just two people

Wounds

How to heal.

We were just two people
Trying to help each other’s
Wounds

How to heal.
Humans are rational beings
Who can rationalize their lies
And disguise them as truth.
The trees know
About the importance of
Inhaling all of the toxic things
It is given, and exhaling life;
Slowly
Letting
It
Go
Out
Into
The
Universe.
The clouds receded
Just enough
To bathe in the sun
And convince myself
That I am okay.

Revolutions
Grounded in ignorance,
Fear
And hatred,
Nourished by the ignorant
Fearful
And hateful
Will never flourish,
And always
Inevitably
Fall.
You can invest
In the land and the seeds
And the tools for the trees, but
Unless you invest your
Time,
Nothing
Of
Consequence
Shall
Grow.
A cold wind
Blows from my heart,
And I take cover,
Not to protect myself
But to protect others;
For while it was
Created
Inside of me,
It is a wind
I can no longer control.
Sometimes I wish
To veil
My inadequacies
In a layer of
Temporary
Superficial
Self esteem,
With hopes
That maybe,
This time,
My new colours
Won’t fade.
