I am exhausted
From the constant
Shifting,
Trying to fit in
To a life
Not meant for me.

I am exhausted
From the constant
Shifting,
Trying to fit in
To a life
Not meant for me.

Everything around me changes
While I sit still,
And unchanged,
But tired;
The rock
Worn down to pieces
By the ever-changing sea.

I am water;
With pressure
I take any form
Convention demands of me,
But ultimately
I am most at ease
In the vastness I have
When I take no form at all.
When did I go
From being so bright eyed
Listening intently
In the classroom,
Hopeful,
To staring with dead eyes
Taking orders
At a job,
Jaded–
The nights
Used to make everything seem
So separate,
Yet here I stand,
Some sort of exhausted
Accumulation of the days.
