I had a vision
Of how our last meeting would go,
We would hug
And I would know
That you lived a good life
And were ready to go,
And you would know
That you were loved,
Especially by me;
But I sit across from you
With you scared to leave,
And me scared for you to go,
And I wish not to stop time,
But to rewind it,
To anticipate your troubles
And cure them
Before they would start;
But unfortunately
That is impossible
Because life is imperfect like that,
Just like goodbyes.
THE FEELS are real.
so many feels

me too:( poor PJ
that’s was some deep feeling… it is never easy to depart…
thank you Chitra:)
I don’t think anyone other than you could express this saying good-bye better. “And I wish not to stop time, but to rewind it.” Perfect. Thank you for a beautiful poem. I think it’s your best.
thank you Barb:) goodbyes are so hard, this one is actually dedicated to my dog–he has kidney failure and unfortunately is getting put down tomorrow:(
How horrible for you, your family and your pet. I’ve had many dogs and had to put one down for cancer. It felt like losing a brother, with all the grieving associated with the loss of a relative. Except the emotional bounce back time was quicker. For me, at least. I’m not telling you how to feel. I just want to sympathize and let you know I empathize as well. 😢
thank you Barb! I feel like it will be the same, he’s my first dog I had though–since I was 9, and we had him for 16 years, home doesn’t quite feel the same without him!
My first dog I got when I was 6 and he died when I was 16. I stayed home from school for 3 days because I was so upset. I’m so sorry!
this is my second day home, might try out going tomorrow! it been bittersweet to take the time to mourn
I’m thinking of you. 💟
thank you:)
Loss is loss. Beautiful work.
thank you:)
I know I read this yesterday and commented a lot, but I just reread it and cried.
I felt every word. Beautiful ☺
thank you:)
Heartfelt. Really good!
thank you Kim:)
